The European Commission DG AGRI issued on 30th of March the "Spring 2023" or Edition N°35 of the Short-term outlook for EU agricultural markets.
Today, DataM publishes the EU estimated agricultural balance sheets, with important improvements:
- Oranges data
- Apples data
- Split of Crops data into Cereals and Oilseeds
- New look
- New URL & bookmarks
- New on-line appendix of the upcoming methodology report 2023
New sectors and new look
The home page brings you to the different sections, which become 9 with Apples and Oranges.

Please note that the old version "EU28" (frozen at 2019) remains still accessible from a link in the bottom-right corner of the home page.
For each sector, the landing page is the "production and use" sheet. The menu on top allows you to access the "trade" and "details" sheets.

Where applicable, a further option gives access to the corresponding EU-level balance sheet, in the agri-food data portal.
New methodology
We invite you also to check the "ReadMe" section, summarising the main objectives, features and caveats of the tool.
A further icon links you to the "methodology" documentation.

At this concern we are glad to anticipate that a new methodology report (2023) is being finalised.
It will accompany this new version of the tool and replace all the old documents. It will be announced here in DataM.
The new report will use on-line annexes that are already available.
New URL & markups
The App is now accessible at:
https://datam.jrc.ec.europa.eu/datam/mashup/EU_ESTIMATED_AGRICULTURAL_BALANCE_SHEETS
The old URL keeps redirecting to the new one for backward compatibility.
You have now also a way to access directly to sectorial data, for example:
https://datam.jrc.ec.europa.eu/datam/mashup/EU_ESTIMATED_AGRICULTURAL_BALANCE_SHEETS/?bookmark=cereals
following bookmarks can be used at the end of the URL:
For agricultural sector, the landing page is normally the "production and use" sheet.
