On 17 April 2019, the European Parliament and the Council adopted Directive (EU) 2019/633 on unfair trading practices (UTPs) in business-to-business relationships in the agricultural and food supply chain. The EU Member States were required to transpose the Directive into their national legal framework by the 1st May 2021 and apply it six months later. To assess the effectiveness of measures taken by Member States in the context of this Directive, the Commission is conducting annual surveys. This news refers to the 4th wave.
This survey by the Joint Research Centre and the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission is carried out across all Member States and it targets suppliers covered by the Directive at the different stages of the agricultural and food supply chain.
