PANAP series of pre-conference workshops at 8th African Conference of Agricultural Economists (ACAE)
21 September, 2026 Nairobi, Kenya
The African Association of Agricultural Economists is organising the 8th African Conference of Agricultural Economists (ACAE) from 22 to 26 September 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. This high-level scientific conference will gather scientists from all over the world to explore critical issues for agri-food systems in Africa.
At this occasion, and in the context of the Pan-African Network for Economic Analysis of Policies (PANAP), the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is hosting three half-day pre-conference workshops on 21 September designed to equip early-career agricultural economists working on policy-relevant topics in Africa with hands-on, technical skills.
Conference participation is not a pre-requisite for participation in the JRC workshops.
The three pre-conference workshops will cover the following topics:
- Best practices in data management: Organising, preparing and processing data in a transparent and well-documented way
- Efficiency analysis: A comparison of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA)
- Introduction to Farm Models using GAMS
